Joel I. Picket
Chairman & Chief Executive Officer
Joel I. Picket is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Gotham Organization, Inc., and its wholly owned subsidiaries including Gotham Construction. Mr. Picket assumed leadership of the company in 1965 and to the present day has overseen the direction of this fourth-generation, 80-year-old, family-owned firm. Mr. Picket is responsible for growing Gotham into a major developer and one of the largest, privately held construction contractors in the country; with construction of more than 35,000 residential units in the New York metropolitan area.

A native New Yorker, Mr. Picket has spent his career shaping the city that he loves with significant contributions in the institutional, commercial, hotel and residential sectors. Mr. Picket graduated from Cornell University with a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences.

Mr. Picket has been actively involved in various real estate trade organizations. He is a member of the Board of Governors and Executive Committee of the Real Estate Board of New York, a former director of the National Housing Conference and a former member of the Board of Directors of the Building Contractors Association. Mr. Picket’s philanthropic endeavors involve a number of educational, medical and arts institutions. He is a member of the Board of Trustees and Executive Committee of Continuum Health Partners, which consists of Beth Israel Medical Center, at which he is Vice Chairman; Long Island College Hospital; St. Luke’s/Roosevelt Hospital, where he is Vice Chairman; and the New York Eye & Ear Infirmary. He is a member of the Board of Overseers of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University; the Advisory Board of the Herbert F. Johnson Museum at Cornell University, where he is also on the University Council and a trustee fellow of the Board of Trustees of Fordham University. Mr. Picket is a member of the Boards of the New York Philharmonic, Overseas Shipholding Group, the Park Avenue Armory, and the Richard Tucker Music Foundation. An astute history buff, Mr. Picket is also the Vice Chairman of The Foundation for the National Archives in Washington DC.

David L. Picket
President
David L. Picket is the President of Gotham Organization, Inc., a fourth generation, family-owned real estate firm that has developed and/or constructed more than 35,000 apartment units. Since joining the family business in 1991, Mr. Picket has overseen the company’s new project development business through a period of unprecedented growth in the firm’s 80-year history.

Since 1998, he has led Gotham’s development and property operations businesses, and under his astute direction has greatly expanded Gotham’s portfolio of residential and commercial assets, with the development of over 1,700 housing units, and two major urban retail centers in the Northeast. Mr. Picket was the first developer to capitalize on the resurgence of the multi-family housing market in New York in the mid-1990s and to recognize the untapped potential of the Midtown West neighborhood. The result has been several award-winning properties, including Nicole, Atlas New York, The Foundry, New Gotham and The Corner.

Prior to joining Gotham, Mr. Picket was a banker in the real estate division of Citicorp where he performed work-outs and restructurings during the last major real estate downturn. He started his career as a real estate attorney for what is now Bryan Cave LLP.

Mr. Picket received a BA from Cornell University and a JD from Columbia Law School. He sits on the boards of a variety of institutions including the Realty Foundation of New York and the Citizens Housing and Planning Council. He is a member of the Board of Trustees for Continuum Health Care Partners, is a member of the Cornell University Council, is on the Advisory Board for the Cornell University College of Arts & Sciences, as well as serving as the Chairman for the Council Committee on Sustainability at Cornell. Mr. Picket is a Board Member of the Fashion Center BID, is the Director of the Owners & Builders Division of REBNY, and is a Board Member of both the Housing Committee and the Board of Governors at REBNY. He is a Board Member of The Jewish Community Relations Council, the Board Chairman of Ten o’clock Classics, and formerly served as the Chairman of the Building Committee for the Harrison Jewish Community Center. Mr. Picket is an avid supporter of the Jewish National Fund, for which he received the 2007 Tree of Life Award, and was recognized by Israel Bonds as the 2000 Recipient of the Builder of Israel Award for outstanding Leadership. David lives with his wife Rona and their three children in Harrison, New York.

Lawrence W. Feiner, CPA
Chief Financial Officer
Lawrence W. Feiner has served as Gotham Organization’s Chief Financial Officer for over 20 years, and has more than 40 years of career expertise in the financial operations of the real estate industry. He works directly with clients and the company’s principals during the life cycle of each project through to successful completion.

Prior to joining Gotham, Mr. Feiner was a partner in a leading certified public accounting firm serving both the real estate and construction industries. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the Construction Financial Management Association. He has served on various real estate committees and has spoken before numerous trade organizations on a variety of industry-related issues pertaining to real estate and construction accounting and taxation. Mr. Feiner’s comprehensive understanding of the financial workings of the industry has made him a respected and recognized leader in his field.

Christopher Jaskiewicz
Chief Operating Officer
Christopher Jaskiewicz is Chief Operating Officer of Gotham Organization, Inc., the parent of Gotham’s real estate development group and Gotham Construction Company, LLC. Chris joined Gotham in 2003 as General Counsel and in his current role he supports Gotham’s operating divisions and has corporate executive duties in addition to directing the legal department and outside counsel.

For Gotham’s development and building portfolio groups, Chris works with the development team during the acquisition and development of projects, meets with community groups, serves as the operations executive of certain projects developed by Gotham, and leads retail and commercial leasing efforts. For Gotham’s construction division, Chris leads contract negotiations with Owners and provides executive support to the project teams as necessary during construction. Chris’s corporate duties include leading Gotham’s consulting practice, corporate governance, crisis control, and working closely with other executives on business development, corporate strategy, risk management, insurance, marketing, and human resource matters.

Mr. Jaskiewicz previously represented Gotham as an associate in the New York office of Proskauer Rose LLP from 1999 to 2003. As a transaction lawyer, he worked primarily on mergers and acquisitions and commercial transactions in the technology, hospitality, and real estate industries. Chris also litigated matters involving entertainment, franchises, employee raiding, trade secrets, securities fraud, and professional sports issues. Prior to law school, Mr. Jaskiewicz worked two years as a PepsiCo District Manager where he managed a team of 10 sales representatives after completing the PepsiCo management training program.

Mr. Jaskiewicz received a law degree from St. John’s University School of Law where he was on the Dean’s List, a BS from Florida State University, and he studied international business at the American University of Paris for a year. Chris has been named a New York Real Estate “Executive of the Month” and a Real Estate Weekly “All Star” and has served as a fundraiser for the March of Dimes, a steering committee member for Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s 9/11/01 “Adopt-a-Company” Program, president of the Florida State University Alumni Association of New York, founder of a 9/11 Scholarship and president of Phi Delta Phi’s New York Province.

Kevin Connolly
Construction Supervisory Services
Kevin Connolly has 30 years of experience in construction management and has overseen a comprehensive spectrum of projects in the residential, retail, educational, and sustainable market sectors. He is responsible for the daily operation of projects under his supervision including management and coordination with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and the project team to ensure successful completion that is within budget and adheres to time constraints.

Mr. Connolly provides consultation on construction feasibility analyses, the review of distressed assets for programmatic changes, and provides operational evaluations on projects’ front and back-ends to ensure efficiency controls.

Mr. Connolly has led the completion efforts on a number of sustainable LEED construction projects that have been certified by the U.S. Green Building Council, and is well versed in the accreditation process and requirements of the program. He received his BS in Civil Engineering at Purdue University.

Melissa Pianko
Executive Vice President of Development
Melissa Pianko is Executive Vice President of Development for Gotham Organization, Inc. Since joining the firm in 2005, she has been responsible for identifying future developments, securing financing, programmatic modeling, and project execution through to completion. Well versed in both the public and private finance sectors, Ms. Pianko is currently the development manager for a 1 million square foot mixed-use project on Manhattan’s far west side that involves a host of municipal agencies. In the midst of the country’s worst credit crisis, Ms. Pianko was key to sourcing and closing both senior and mezzanine loans for a 250,000 square foot mixed-use development on 72nd Street and Broadway.

Prior to Gotham, Ms. Pianko started her career at Goldman Sachs, first in Municipal Finance and then in Real Estate Investment Banking. While at Goldman, she consulted to the Mayor’s office regarding the economic feasibility of rebuilding Ground Zero.

Ms. Pianko received a BA from Columbia University and an MBA from Stanford University. She is a member of the Urban Land Institute and The Real Estate Board of New York. She serves on the Board of Advisors to NYU’s Furman Center Real Estate and Urban Policy and was named a Real Estate Weekly Rising Star in February 2007 and a 2009 Top Woman in New York City Real Estate by NY Residential Magazine.

Katherine Sabroff
Vice President, Marketing & Operations
Katherine Sabroff joined Gotham Organization, Inc. in 1997, and has been instrumental in growing the company’s portfolio of luxury properties into a highly sought boutique lifestyle brand. Ms. Sabroff manages all on-site leasing and sales programs for new residential developments which includes conceiving and implementation of all marketing strategies and materials.

She is also responsible for the on-going asset management of Gotham’s residential portfolio which involves annual budgeting, overseeing capital improvements, tax credit compliance, supervising management and leasing programs, as well as strategizing on-going leasing and marketing activities, which in part includes an innovative platform of cultural programs and activities that are vital to the Gotham lifestyle – experiential amenities geared at redefining apartment life in New York City. Prior to joining Gotham, Ms. Sabroff worked in the Los Angeles office of International Creative Management, and received a BA from Ohio University.
